The story follows trials and tribulations of a gullible, young woman, Nikki, who leaves her hometown to start life afresh in a big city. Unfortunately, her unpleasant past follows her and she soon finds herself caught in a vortex of complex twists and turns and begins to fear for her own safety. She realizes that reality can be stranger than fiction. Nikki is stalked by a hooded killer who, one by one, kills everyone around Nikki. Eventually Nikki meets dashing police inspector Raj and marries him. He vows to protect her, but then she realizes one shocking truth after another - neither can she trust her new family nor can she trust her own as everyone has secrets to hide and hidden agenda. Left to herself, Nikki has to expose dark shocking secrets before the killer gets her.

Rajbir is sentenced to a year in jail for Assault while his friends, Sexy, Ambani, and Doctor, are not charged. After his discharge, he reports to their boss, Fauji, an ex-army officer, who, at one time was a bank security guard, was unsuccessful in looting it, ended up as a gangster, and now wants to be an MLA. Rajbir and his crew find out that the village is their hometown and decide to support the activists. They are turned down as the group does not want their demands tarnished by the involvement of ex-convicts/goons.

Roma is forced into an arranged marriage with a widower. Coming to detest her husband, his son, and the life that has been enforced upon her, she begins an affair with another man.

Advocate Gautam Mehra lives in Bombay with his wife, Anju, and a daughter, Rakhsa. One day while returning from court he sees a woman being molested. He stops, phones the police, and then tries to stop the molester, in vain, though as he gets attacked and loses consciousness. But the police do arrive and arrest the molester. Raghuvir's attempts to convince Gautam to change his testimony are in vain. Gautam goes on to testify against Raghuvir Singh, and gets him sentenced to seven years rigorous prison.
